Conscious Physician: Psychedelics Academy (CPPA)

Healthcare Facilitator Training & Certification in Preparation, Ceremony, and Integration

Program Overview

We LOVE people. Our mission is simple: help humans live whole, joyful, soul-aligned lives (and maybe laugh a little along the way). We’re here to transmute intergenerational trauma for humanity and our plant.

The Conscious Physicians Psychedelics Academy (CPPA) is the first physician-led facilitator certification program offering CME through UNM School of Medicine, for healthcare professionals, first responders, psychotherapists, death doulas, spiritual counselors and community healers learning to guide psychedelic care safely, ethically, and lawfully. We also offer CEU’s for those who seek it.

We have developed a CPPA signature preparation & integration cutting edge AI platform supporting psychedelic preparation & aftercare for facilitators and clients alike. We are blending heart, science, and technology to evolve healing itself.

Rooted in evidence-based science, trauma-informed care, and indigenous New Mexican wisdom, we guide facilitators from trauma to self-love to service.

We proudly serve New Mexico, where the next generation of conscious medicine is being born.

“Conscious Life Practices Saved My Life.”

This program gave me the tools to reclaim and transform my life. Today, I'm sober and I live with purpose, confidence, and inner peace. I've become a better woman, mother, and leader, and I feel empowered to make a lasting impact on my community.

  • When I decided to get sober, I did just that. As the days went by, I found myself struggling. A friend of mine received an email with Dr. Lida’s information attached, discussing Conscious Life Practices and Psilocybin Therapy. I filled out the information to attend her 16-week course. I didn’t think she would choose me, but she did.

I began studying her book, Conscious Physician Method, and attending her one-on-one coaching classes. She gave me exercises to do each class, and I started applying them to my day-to-day life. I started meditating daily, sometimes more than once a day. I also began hydrating using her method, doing breathwork to control my anxiety, cold plunging for the many benefits it has for our bodies, and eating better!

I also started taking time for myself, no matter what was going on around me. I began to see my life become less complicated by taking time for myself and my mental health, simply by practicing the CLPs I was learning through Dr. Lida’s guidance. My dream of becoming a Conscious Life Coach became clearer than ever before. I have become a better woman, spouse, mother, Nonnie, and friend by taking a few minutes each day for myself and my mental health.

I opened my business and started a five-year plan. I look forward to teaching and sharing all that I have learned with others. I live my life now in the present. I am a leader and look forward to my future. I am spiritually in sync with Mother Nature and myself. I have no doubt that the road ahead of me will be successful, and I believe I will make a huge impact on others and my community. I believe that, with my training through Dr. Lida, I will touch many people’s lives, and I’m excited to do so! I have never been more excited about my future! A huge thanks to Dr. Lida and her program!

Curriculum & Outcomes

Program StructureOur Academy mirrors the natural rhythm of human gestation and birth, symbolizing transformation through 3 trimesters:

Trimester I. Self-Discovery (Inner Work): Healing the healer through trauma awareness, self-regulation of nervous system through Conscious Life Practices (CLPs), psychedelic pharmacology, medicine, law and much more

Trimester II. Ceremony & Integration (Relational Work): Facilitation, lawful ceremony, safety, and trauma-informed integration.

Trimester III. Practicum & Service (Outer Work): Clinical and community practicum, mentorship, and a final thesis on personal & community impact.

Learning Outcomes

  • Support lawful, ethical, and trauma-informed psychedelic preparation and integration within their professional scope of practice, while prioritizing patient safety, consent, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

  • Demonstrate self-awareness and ethical maturity by recognizing how unresolved personal trauma can influence clinical presence, decision-making, and patient care. Graduates understand that clinicians who engage in their own healing show up differently—and more safely—than those who remain unconsciously activated by their own trauma.

  • Apply the Conscious Physician Method to their personal and professional lives, integrating self-healing, self-care, and reflective practice as foundational responsibilities. Through this process, graduates cultivate the capacity to serve others without perpetuating harm, fostering a clinical and community culture rooted in integrity, humility, and healing.

Guest Faculty Program — Conscious Physician: Psychedelics Academy (CPPA)

The CPPA Guest Faculty Program invites experienced professionals to engage deeply with emerging leaders in the psychedelic medicine community. As a guest faculty member, you will have the opportunity to lead sessions, labs, or integration circles, providing reflective mentorship and compassionate guidance to participants throughout their learning journey. Your role also includes submitting teaching materials in advance and offering brief session feedback to support continuous program growth. Faculty are encouraged to participate in at least one Faculty Circle per trimester, fostering connection and collaboration across the teaching team.

The program runs from January to September 2026, structured across three trimesters:

  • Trimester I — Self-Discovery: Focused on inner work, self-exploration, trauma processing, and Conscious Life Practices (CLPs).

CPPA intends to pursue alignment with New Mexico’s Medical Psilocybin Act and facilitator certification requirements once official rules and regulations are issued by the New Mexico Department of Health and advisory board. Until such time, CPPA does not represent itself as a state-certified facilitator training program.

Participants are responsible for understanding and complying with all applicable local, state, and federal laws governing their professional practice.

Who am I?

I’m a Western-trained doctor who healed trauma and recovered from severe burnout using Eastern practices and plant medicine.

Dr. Lida Fatemi, DO, MPH is a hospice and palliative care physician, best-selling author of The Conscious Physician Method: Conscious Life Practices & Psychedelics, psychedelic educator, and legislative advisor to the State of New Mexico for the Medical Psilocybin Act and guide to the state of Texas for a certification path for facilitators.

She is the founder of The Conscious Physician Method, a pioneering approach to healing burnout and trauma through conscious life practices and psychedelic integration. An award-winning clinician and national speaker, Dr. Fatemi transforms trauma into wisdom and helps physician mothers and healthcare leaders return to joy, purpose, and embodied leadership.

Her work has been featured on NBC, ABC, the upcoming documentary Journeys, and her podcast The Conscious Physician: Medicine & Psychedelics. She is also the founder of the Conscious Physicians: Psychedelics Academy (CPPA), where she trains healthcare professionals in ancient and innovative methods of healing—guiding them to transform trauma into self-love and service to all.

I hold a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree and a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) from Emory University. I currently serve as an Associate Professor at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine and as a legislative advisor to the State of New Mexico and guide to the state of Texas in developing educational and certification pathways for psychedelic facilitators.

I come from a lineage of healers, physicians, and entrepreneurs from Iran, with Indigenous Zoroastrian roots from ancient Persia. This ancestral wisdom of light and balance deeply informs my work. My purpose is to empower those in states of trauma to reconnect with their inner light through conscious life practices, plants, and fungi.

As the founder of the Conscious Physicians: Psychedelics Academy (CPPA), my mission is to guide the next generation of physicians and facilitators in restoring medicine as a sacred path of healing, self-love, and service to all.
